About Kim
SHE IS ALWAYS HAPPY
Hi, I’m Kim – a creative female builder based in the beautiful seaside town of Whitstable, Kent. I specialise in design, carpentry, paint spraying, bespoke built-in furniture and property developing.
Ever since buying my first house at the age of 19, I have enjoyed renovating property. What first started as a need, because money was short, has developed into a passion for me.
Now, with over 30 years experience, working full-time as a creative female builder and property developer, I have acquired a vast amount of skills and now have the ability to totally renovate a house.
Throughout my time as a builder, I have re-modelled small flats, raised the roof and added a floor on a Regency Grade II listed, seafront property, renovated a 300 year old barn, and just about everything in between.
I am able to express myself in many ways. I do it through my work, designing and creating beautiful projects in peoples homes and restoring buildings to their original glory. What I enjoy most is seeing the joy my work brings to my customers.
I have remained friends with my customers, all of whom have been happy with the end result. Most of my work is gained through word of mouth, which has been very helpful, being a female builder sometimes means you have a little more to prove!!

I have an excellent creative eye and the ability to come up with ideas which can often enhance original plans.

Kim has just finished modernising, two bedrooms in our house. She is an incredible worker: patient, friendly, with lots of creative ideas and a perfectionist!
She always finishes what she started, arrives on time, leaves everything tidy, has an incredible amount of skills and enthusiasm for the job. No work is too small or too big for her! Kim listens and takes time to explain.
This was a totally new experience for us having had work done by many tradesmen in the past.
I cannot recommend her highly enough and I very much look forward to working with her on new projects.

Kim helped us with our garage annex, which included fitting an electric garage door; laying an engineered wooden floor; fitting all our skirtings and architraves; and building and plastering a stud wall required by building control. She was also able to help with a huge list of snagging issues in both the garage annex and our main house, that we hadn’t been able to finish and which would usually have required a variety of different trades to complete.
Kim has been invaluable to our project with her ‘can do’ attitude. She arrives on time everyday; always comes when she says she will; works incredibly hard; has a great eye for detail; offers solutions to problems; and always does what is asked of her. We cannot recommend her highly enough!

I hardly know where to begin to say what wonderful work Kim is capable of. I have been in my current house since 2003 and over the years Kim has done some fantastic projects for me including overseeing my biggest disaster when I discovered that my new home had dry rot and the back half of the house had to be virtually rebuilt! Since then she has completely replaced my roof, turned my loft into a wonderful light and airy attic space and completely transformed my master bedroom into a calm, tranquil place. I have been inspired by her ideas and am left feeling 100% confident that the end result will be just what she promised if not better! Her work is immaculate and at the end of each day the workspace is left cleaner and tidier than when she started. Kim definitely Can.

THIS WAS ME A FEW YEARS AGO SHE SURE CAN PLASTER QUICKLY. I cannot say this is my favourite job, but it is definitely good exercise and keeps me fit. From the video you can see it can be fun, just add a bit of my personality to bring a bit of sunshine into your life.
Beautiful New Decking
Decking for the summer. This decking has enhanced the outside living space. The decking was made with a resilient columbian pine which splits if screws are put straight in, so all 1200 screws had to be counter sunk first. Decking comes in a lot of man made materials which will last many years longer than soft wood. It is also available in hard wood, which looks amazing if your budget can stretch that far. It is important that the supporting joists are fully protected from moisture running off the decking. Otherwise they will rot.
